This is the home you’ve been waiting for.

I work hard and smart to bring your vision to life.

Kristen Rivoli Interior Design, founded in 2009, is built upon my extensive experience designing luxury residential and large-scale commercial projects. With an expertise in new builds and gut renovations, I design premium homes customized to your tastes and needs. My designs have been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, New England Home, Boston Common, Domino, Boston Globe Magazine, and HGTV. A native of western New York and graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I live with my husband, two sons, and dog just outside of Boston.

With me, you can expect:

Tenacious Project Management With a proactive communication style, I use best business practices to manage teams, schedule and track progress, and maintain budgets. I work with contractors on most projects and am well-versed in the latest construction processes, materials, and technologies.

Creative Ingenuity Inspired by fashion, art, and travel, I am known for having a discerning eye. I work in every style, from traditional European antiques to mid-century modern, most often achieving a mix that uniquely reflects the client.

Personal Attention Every family and every project has specific needs. Working with my firm means you get me. I not only make sure the design works for you but that the process works for you, too.

Fun When facing big budgets, tight deadlines, or temporary relocation, it helps to work with someone like me, who has a warm sense of humor and can help you maintain perspective.

I have known and worked with Kristen for 20 years. She reads her clients very cleanly and figures out their distinct style. She gets to know you, understands what your comfort level is, what appeals to you, while also introducing fabrics and colors you would never have thought of. Plus, I like her personally; she’s smart, kind, and caring. Everyone who sees my master bathroom (a gut renovation), is smitten with it. I could live my life in that bathroom. Her design instincts are right on—she nails it.

How it works

Consultation

I love hearing other people’s stories. Yes, we’ll discuss logistics. But I also want to know your interests, your family’s routines, what items you treasure. I’m friendly and social and adept at reading clients’ personalities and preferences.

7

Design Concept

My research culminates in an overall design plan that includes furnishings and fabrics, floorplans, illustrations, and schematics for custom built-ins. You give me your feedback, then I revise and present the design concept again for your final approval.

7

Manage Project

After concept approval, I move forward on project logistics: placing orders, scheduling subcontractors, furniture storage, site visits, coordination with architects and contractors. Your online client portal gives you transparent oversight of all plans, contracts, invoices, and schedules.

7

Installation

This is the big day. I ensure your furnishings are delivered and properly arranged, down to the cutlery if that’s what you need. When you walk in and look around, you’ll recognize yourself and your family’s stories all around you.
